Under Ordinance 2023-05-31.5, other than with the Council at its next meeting, a Council member “shall not, at any time, use, disseminate, share, or in any way publish or distribute” City records or information “to or with any person or entity,” including “on any social platform.” The protection follows members out of office and does not expire. Each violation is a separate offense, with a fine of up to $500. A member who shows residents five City documents could face five fines. Your representatives are now safe from being informative.
